2017 Movies: We Don’t Belong Here – Riley Keough
The drama film We Don’t Belong Here (originally titled The Greens Are Gone), scheduled to be released on DVD and digital on April 4, has a new trailer.
The movie, written and directed by Peer Pederson, follows the Green family, whose dysfunctional life gets an even more dramatic turn when son Max goes missing and dark secrets begin to come to the surface.
The cast ensemble includes Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener as the family matriarch, Anton Yelchin as Max, Riley Keough, Kaitlyn Dever and Annie Starke as Max’s sisters, Maya Rudolph, Cary Elwes, and others.
The trailer features scenes from the Greens’s family life, with the youngest daughter not taking her medication, with her older sister Elisa and mother hating each other, with discussions about drugs, and a gun in the hands of the girls, and eventually, in those of the mother’s, who shoots. “The key to an amazing life is medication”, says at some point her older sister Madeleine to the youngest one, who refuses to take the pills the psychiatrist has prescribed to her.
“The only thing more dangerous than uncovering the truth is uncovering the reason why” – is the message the trailer carries.
The track playing in the background is “Jungle” by the English rock band Mandeville.
