The CW 2017 Series: Life Sentence – Trailer Song
The CW has released a first look trailer for its upcoming comedy drama series Life Sentence, starring Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale.
The new TV show, from the creators of Scrubs, revolves around Stella (Lucy Hale), a young girl who, for the last eight years, has lived every day like it could be her last, living like she was dying because she knew she was going to die because of her cancer.
When she finds out that she’s no longer sick, she starts dealing with the long-term consequences of the “live in the moment” decisions she made and with the secrets that her family and friends had been hiding from her.
The trailer reveals some of the secrets kept from her and the way they impact her, who doesn’t want anything to change. “Love Actually isn’t my favorite movie”, reveals her husband, who told her that they want to be honest with each other about who they are, now that they have a future. He also reveals that he can’t keep going outside every time he has to fart. “Winter is coming and I’m not going to be able to spend that kind of time outdoors”, he adds, leaving her speechless.
She also finds out that her mother is lesbian, and has decided to finally put herself first, now that her cancer is cured, that her sister has given up her scholarship to Columbia to stay home and take care of her, and that her brother sells his medication to get extra money.
Described as “a comedy about what happens when you’re sentenced to life”, the upcoming series stars also Brooke Lyons, Dylan Walsh, Carlos PenaVega, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair, and Elliot Knight, and is set to debut on The CW as a midseason entry during the 2017-18 television season.
The song used in the trailer is “Hung Up” by Extreme Music.
