2017 Movies: Feed (Trailer Song)
The trailer for the upcoming drama film Feed, written by and starring Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario, has been released.
Directed by Tommy Bertelsen, the film follows Olivia Grey (Bellisario), an 18-year-old who loses her twin brother,
Matthew (Tom Felton), in a tragic car accident, and must deal with his loss. The trailer reveals that her attempt to go on with her life is marked by a series of issues, including an eating disorder. “I can’t be alone. I can’t be here without you” – says Troian’s character in one of the scenes, talking to her brother, whom she starts seeing everywhere. The answer she gets? “You’re never without me”. The clip also reveals that she starts having an eating disorder (she refuses to eat) because her brother tells her he needs the food. Judging by a line she says in another scene, “We promised we’d die together and I didn’t”, she also refuses to eat because she feels guilty, Matt makes her feel guilty, and she doesn’t want to open up to anyone or seek professional help.
“Feed the darkness. Feed the emptiness. Feed the guilt. Feed the compulsion. Perfection has a price.” – are the onscreen lines in the trailer, featuring an original track by composer Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age). The soundtrack album will be out soon.
The 31-year-old actress struggled with an eating disorder in real life and this inspired her to write the film, according to an interview she gave with PLL’s director, Lesli Linka Glatter.
The film, starring also Brooke Fontana as young Olivia, Ben Winchell, James Remar, Paula Malcomson, Tiffany Boone, Adam Shapiro, Courtney Henggeler, and others, is set to be released this summer, on July 18.
