2018 Movies: A Wrinkle in Time (Trailer Song)
“What if we are here for a reason? What if we are part of something truly divine?” – these are the questions raised by Chris Pine at the beginning of the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action film A Wrinkle In Time.
The film, from visionary director Ava Duvernay based on the science fantasy novel of the same name by Madeleine
L’Engle, follows Meg Murry (Storm Reid), a 13-year-old girl whose scientist father, that has accomplished “incredible and dangerous things”, disappeared, as she, her brother (Deric McCabe) and her friend are sent to space by three celestial creatures in order to find him.
The trailer reveals that the scientist, Dr. Alex Murry (Pine), is “trapped by a darkness that is actively spreading throughout the Universe”, and features the trio being warned by Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey) that they are going to be tested every step of the way. “The only thing faster than the light is darkness.” – is the message conveyed in the trailer, which shows also Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, and others.
The song playing in the background is a cover of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” originally performed by the
British new wave music duo Eurythmics, off their 1983 album “Sweet Dreams”.
A Wrinkle in Time, starring also Zach Galifianakis, Michael Peña, Rowan Blanchard, Levi Miller, Will McCormack, and others, is set to be released in the US theaters on March 9, 2018.
