2018 Netflix Series: One Day At a Time – Season 2 (Trailer Song)
The critically acclaimed series “One Day At a Time” returns this month, on Netflix, for season 2.
The show revolves around the Alvarez family, consisting of Penelope (Justina Machado), a newly single Cuban-American mom, who’s a former Army nurse and raises her teenage daughter, Elena (Isabella Gomez), and tween son, Alex (Marcel Ruiz), with the help of her old-school mother (Rita Moreno).
The trailer for the upcoming season reveals that Penelope goes back to school and, if initially she’s really excited about that, saying “it’s all amazing”, she finds herself doubting her ability to handle everything. “I’m a veteran with depression and anxiety. But this is my dream. A great family, I already have a great job, when you add school on top of it it’s like I’m trying to do three things great, but I’m just doing them all badly.” – she says in one of the scenes to her family. “You don’t have to be Superwoman. There can only be one such woman in a family and that is me.” – Penelope’s mother says.
In another scene, Penelope tells her daughter, who’s trying to embrace her newfound identity (she came out at the end of season 1), “We need to celebrate all the good things happening in your life.”, and at the end of the trailer she announces her family she’s seeing somebody, “a man”, who is described by her mother as “a stallion”.
The trailer, featuring some of the positive reviews the series received and inviting viewers to “experience the struggles, feel the emotions, celebrate the fun, joy, and love.” this season, is soundtracked by Josh Auer’s 2014 song “Something Worth Fighting”, from his album “Pick Up The Pieces”.
Season 2 of “One Day At a Time” will be launched on the streaming service on January 26.
