Showtime 2018 Series: Billions – Season 3 (Trailer Song)

The hit drama series Billions, starring Paul Giamati and Damian Lewis in the leading roles, returns to Showtime this year with its third season.

The show, created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross, about power politics in the world of New York high finance, revolves around billionaire hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damien Lewis), who uses insider trading and bribery to grow his company’s wealth, and US Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamati), who goes after him.

The trailer released by the pay cable network on Saturday, at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, reveals that the two enemies will find themselves, in the upcoming episodes, fighting against new enemies, while still trying to destroy one another. Maggie Siff, who plays Rhoades’ wife, Wendy, and works at Axelrod’s firm as a performance coach, advises Axelrod to give up trading until the case is over and let “them” trade for him. Clancy Brown is also featured as Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat, the new attorney general.

“I’m not hiding, I’m not cowering, I’m not defeated, I have to dominate.” – Lewis’ character, Axelrod, is heard saying to Maggie Siff’s character at the beginning of the trailer, explaining then that the reason for his hesitation is not fear, as she thought, but rage. “When it comes to billionaires and Bobby Axelrod in particular, they’re meat eaters.” – Rhoades is warned in another scene by Brian Connerty. Axelrod’s wife, Lara, comes in and asks him to be careful and not lose the money. Another shot features Wendy Rhoades telling to Axelrod, who called her at night, on her mobile, that he shouldn’t call her “like this”. Taylor Mason (played by Asia Kate Dillon) tries to convince Axelrod to allow them to act on his behalf, and apparently they’re trying to destroy someone as Wendy tells them, in a scene revealed at the end of the trailer, “Whoever you’re trying to destroy, stop!”.

The music used in the trailer is the 2015 song “Glitter & Gold” by English musician Barns Courtney, included on his 2017 album, “The Attractions Of Youth”.

Billions Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, March 25 at 10 pm, on Showtime.
