ITV 2017 Series: Liar
ITV has droped the official trailer for its brand new thriller Liar, starring Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt and Welsh Fantastic Four star Ioan Gruffudd.
The six-part series, created by Golden Globe-nominated producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams, tells the story of a night that changes the lives of Laura (Joanne Froggatt), a dedicated teacher recently out of a relationship, and Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd), a surgeon whose son studies at Laura’s school. The two go out for a date, without imagining the far-reaching consequences that their meeting will have on each other or their families.
Described as “a gripping thriller that examines both sides of a relationship and both sides of the truth”, Liar explores how secrets and lies, as well as deceit, affect both the couple and their friends and family. The tag line for the show is “Every truth has two sides; it is as well to look at both, before we commit to either.”, which is a quote by Aesop.
The show, starring also Zoƫ Tapper, Warren Brown, Shelley Conn, Jamie Flatters, Danny Webb, Richie Campbell and others, started shooting in November 2016 and will premiere this fall.
